Cobb Co. police: Robbers hit victim over head with gun

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Cobb County police are investigating an armed robbery at 371 Pat Mell Road in Marietta.

Investigators tell CBS Atlanta the suspect entered the discount store with a handgun and demanded money from the employee.

The victim handed the suspect money that she removed from the safe. The suspect then demanded more money and struck the victim in the head with his handgun.

The suspect fled the area on a bicycle.

Police say the man looked to be in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a black, pullover hoodie sweatshirt, and acid-washed, denim jeans. He also wore a face cover.

The victim was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
