BUFORD, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police have charged a man in connection to a quadruple-shooting that took place in Buford on Tuesday.
A friend of two of the victims blamed the violence on "a drug deal gone bad."
Daniel Turpin and Trenton Jones died in the shooting on Tuesday.
Two other people, Haile Lewis and Justin Kendall were injured in the shooting. Police said they are expected to fully recover from their injuries. All the men were 23 years of age.
Police said Turpin arranged a drug deal with Lewis and Jones at his home on Ivy Crest Dr.
Lewis and Jones arrived at the home to make the transaction with Turpin and Kendall.
Police said the deal fell through and Lewis began beating Turpin. Shots were fired.
Once the gunfire ended, police said Turpin and Jones were dead at the home.
Kendall ran to a nearby residence with multiple gunshot wounds and Lewis left in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.
"We suddenly heard loud knocking. Then we hear some guy yelling, 'Help! Help! I've been shot call 911,'" said Michael Barrett, a neighbor.
"I was sitting in the house and a guy comes running up the street hollering, 'Help! I've been shot.' He started beating on the door. I come out and he was standing there bleeding. I dialed 911," said Nicky Patrick.
When Barrett saw him, he quickly jumped into action.
"I took my shirt off and I applied pressure to his neck. He had a bullet hole in his neck," said Barrett.
But that wasn't the only bullet hole in the man's body.
"I'm doing my best to keep him from bleeding anymore than he already is. He got a hoodie on. He's been shot in the arm. He said he was shot three or four times. I'm nervous myself." said Barrett.
Barrett and his wife were nervous and--- in almost as much shock as the victim who was screaming in pain.
"We're all kind of shocked and really freaked out especially considering we were outside and I had my daughter outside with me when this happened," said Barrett.
Lewis later showed up at Grady Memorial Hospital in a stolen car seeking treatment. Investigators charged him with one count of murder, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of V.G.C.S.A.
A
friend of the victims' said the drugs were valued at $3,600. He said
one of his friends had just purchased a gun hours before the shooting.
