Family, friends and co-workers of Thomas gathered to honor her life.
There was also a clear message during her funeral service from her fellow officers-- don't drink and drive.
"When you leave here today, you go back and tell them about Jasmine who is left without a mother," said Sgt. Janice Sturdivant.
Sturdivant trained Thomas when she was just a cadet.
"We know that when God is ready for you, you are going to go, but it is not fair for any of us to think it is okay to get in a car or allow anybody else to get in a car," said Sturdivant.
It was an emotional day for everyone as they said goodbye to Thomas.
"She was very special. She came to work every night with a smile. She uplifted everybody, kept everybody motivated. She was just a great asset to the unit," said Sgt. Darrell Dixon.
Officer's described her as caring, fun, always smiling, and cracking jokes.
The lives she touched was clear by the showing of support at her funeral and burial.
Hundreds of officers from as far away as Chattanooga came to pay their respects.
"We have had a lot of officers die in the line of duty the past several years and it is just one more to let us know it's a tough job, but when it is in your heart to do what you have to do, what you love," said Gwinnett Police Ofc. Wood.
