DeKalb county police are searching for a robbery suspect near an apartment complex where he abandoned his car and fled on foot.
According to DeKalb Police Lt. Lavigne, a pedestrian reported an armed robbery in the area of South Hairston Road and Redan Road and told police he had seen the suspect's car earlier at the Elite at the Mountain Apartments off Holcombe Road in unincorporated DeKalb.
Officers responded to the complex and spotted a car matching the description of the suspect's car, Lavigne said.
When the suspect saw the officers, he attempted to elude them, eventually jumping out of his car and taking off on foot.
The suspect's car then rolled over an embankment and into a building that is part of the adjoining complex, Kenridge Apartments. It's unclear if there was any structural damage to the building.
There were no injuries reported.
