Family and friends of Stacey English took to the streets of Southwest Atlanta on Sunday, marching to the site where the 36-year-old's body was found under a fallen tree. It's been three days since the Fulton County Medical Examiner positively identified the Buckhead resident and emotions are still raw. Loved ones shared tearful hugs as balloons were tied to the tree trunk and a cross bearing English's name and picture were placed nearby. Despite the grief many were feeling family and friends tried to stay positive.
"We are here to celebrate this afternoon right? We are going to celebrate Stacey's life today," said Amisha Hardy, English's friend.
"She had a beautiful smile. She had a lovely smile, like she welcomed you with her arms wide open. That is the kind of love she had, that is the way she was raised," said Anthony Cox, English's cousin.
"It's a great day because it is a closure day and its outstanding to see everyone standing for her, that means she will be here for a long time. She is not gone," Bernice Hurks, English's aunt.
