Gregory Wright told CBS Atlanta News a city drainage problem that he thought had been fixed is once again causing severe flooding at his southwest Atlanta home. He said water spills over the drain during a heavy rain causing water and trash to pour into his yard.
"Words can't describe it, it's just like a flood disaster area almost," Wright said.
Wright first complained about the problem in July. At that time, CBS Atlanta News exposed the issue and the city sent a crew out to make the opening to the two drains outside his home were larger.
"How long will it be before the water goes in the house and destroys the house? Then we'll really have serious problems. It's bad now, but once the water gets in the house it's destroyed," Wright said.
The quick fix hasn't completely resolved the matter because wright shared incredible video of the flooding issue that resurfaced again over the weekend.
CBS Atlanta News has contacted Atlanta's Department of Watershed Management about the drainage issue and late Tuesday they sent an inspector out to look at the storm drains and come up with a solution.
"I'm going to continue to ride the 'Action Adam' train until we get some resolve with getting this situation fixed," Wright said.
City officials said they will start cleaning the drains every 90 days while working on a more permanent solution.
