Washington still has inside track at Ga. Tech QB

ATLANTA (AP) -

Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson says Tevin Washington has the inside track to keep the quarterback job in 2012 but isn't guaranteed to be the starter.

On another subject, Johnson was vague about the health of leading tackler Julian Burnett, who staggered off the field after making a tackle during a Sun Bowl loss to Utah. The coach wouldn't give any details about the injury, other than to say it wasn't a concussion and that Burnett has some decisions to make about his future.

Johnson spoke Friday at a media briefing that also included athletic director Dan Radakovich and men's basketball coach Brian Gregory.

Radakovich says he expects the Atlantic Coast Conference to go to a nine-game league schedule when Syracuse and Pittsburgh join the league.
