Paulding sheriff issues warning over fake charity

PAULDING COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

If you live in Paulding County and you receive a phone call from someone asking for money for a certain children's charity, beware.

According to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, someone has been calling residents, asking them to donate to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office "Cops for Kids" fund.

However, the department doesn't have a charity under that name, and isn't collecting any money under that moniker.

If you receive a call for the bogus charity, don't donate any money.
