If you were once a child and had a TV, you probably know (and probably love) the work of Jim Henson.
CBS Atlanta's Aaron Childers got the opportunity to speak with Bonnie Erickson at the Center for Puppetry Arts.
Erickson worked with Jim Henson for many years and has first-hand knowledge about all things Muppet.
Erickson started out working for Jim Henson as a costume designer on The Frog Prince just as Sesame Street was airing its first season. She went on to create many different puppets for him, the most notable being Miss Piggy. For 13 years, she was the Creative Director of the Product Division of Children's Television Workshop and she is currently the Executive Director of the Jim Henson Legacy.
Erickson toured the Center for Puppetry Arts with us and shared her personal accounts of many of the Jim Henson exhibits on display there. Big Bird, Ernie, the Swedish Chef and Rowlf the Dog are just a few of the famous faces who reside at the Center.
Take a moment to tour this amazing collection, housed right here in Atlanta, with an equally-amazing woman who has spent her career working with some of the most famous puppets ever.
