Soldier from East Point dies in Afghanistan

EAST POINT, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The Department of Defense announced the death of a soldier who was deployed in Afghanistan.

Pfc. Michael W. Pyron, 30, of Hopewell, Va., died Jan. 10 in Parwan province, Afghanistan.

Pyron was assigned to the 25th Signal Battalion, 160th Signal Brigade, 335th Signal Command Theater, East Point, Ga.
