Occupy Atlanta plans to rally Monday against what they call police brutality from the Atlanta Police Department.
At 8:30 p.m., Occupy Atlanta and allies will rally and march against "the reckless and wanton police murders of fellow Atlantans."
The Occupy group cites the deaths of 54-year-old Dwight Person who was shot and killed in a drug raid on Nov. 17, 19-year-old Joetavius Stafford who was shot and killed at the Vine City MARTA station on Oct. 15, and the death of 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston who died during the execution of a no-knock warrant 5 years ago.
"With each passing month, many of Atlanta's residents, especially its African-American population, feel increasingly targeted by police. The police continue to kill because they do not face the consequences of their actions," said Occupy Atlanta in a news release.
