During a time when so many families across the Atlanta area are losing their homes to foreclosure, one family is getting a new home.
Carlas Clark walked into her very first home today, made possible by The Warrick Dunn Family Foundation and Aaron's, Inc. as part of a program called Home For the Holidays that helps economically disadvantaged single-parent families have homes.
Clark is a custodian at Georgia State University and had been working with Habitat for Humanity to get her first home, but had no idea that it'd be filled with furniture and appliances, too.
"When I left my apartment this morning I had nothing and I didn't think that I'd turn the key and have everything," Clark said.
Warrick Dunn, an Atlanta Falcon, said he likes to help single parent families because he, too, was raised by a single parent and knows their struggles.
