Sandy Springs road reconstruction causing dangerous blind spots

SANDY SPRINGS, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A neighborhood in Sandy Springs has demanded that the state make some major changes to a road that was just reconstructed because of the blind spots the reconstruction created.

The problem is on Abernathy near the Brandon Mill Road- Johnson Ferry Road intersection. That's were construction crews are in the middle of a road-widening project.

Contractors redid a side street off Abernathy and raised the slope of the road, leaving drivers with dangerous blind spots as they drive up Abernathy.

The entire Windham Hill neighborhood is up in arms over the reconstruction.

As a quick fix, the State put up a stop sign, but most people just blow right through the stop sign.

CBS Atlanta's Pothole Patrol will keep an eye on the reconstruction developments.
