According to Georgia Department of Transportation, one person is dead and seven people were injured after a three car accident on Northbound I-85 (MM-127) in Jackson County.
Police say a Honda Pilot with 7 people in it was traveling north in the inside lane of I-85 when it developed mechanical problem and began slowing in the lane. A Chevrolet Suburban struck the rear of the Honda. The Honda overturned in the median and the Suburban struck a tractor trailer.
Pau Mung, 23, who was in the Honda was killed in the crash.
The injured were taken to Athens Regional , Northeast Georgia Medical , and two were treated at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
