GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle accident that shut down I-85 northbound entirely at the I-985 split on Wednesday.
Investigators say at 5:33 p.m. 35-year-old Lonnie Cross was riding his motorcycle northbound on I-85 when he struck a tire tread and lost control of his bike.
The driver of a tractor-trailer was unable to stop and ran over Cross, according to police.
Cross was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
There are no charges pending at this time and the investigation continues.
