Frenchman ordered to pay ex-wife $14,000 for lack of sex

LONDON (CBS) -

A 51-year-old Frenchman has been ordered to pay his ex-wife $14,000 for failing to have enough sex with him during their 21 years of marriage.

According to London's Daily Telegraph, a judge in Nice ruled that the legal code stipulating married couples must agree to a "shared communal life," implied that "sexual relations must form part of a marriage."

In a study conducted by Georgia State University, 15-percent of married couples said they haven't had sex with their spouse in the last six months-to-one-year, according to CBS News.
