FORT BENNING, GA (AP) -
Two Army aviators from a special operations unit are dead after their helicopter crashed during a training exercise at Fort Benning in west Georgia.
An Army spokeswoman, Carol Darby, said no one else was injured in the crash, which happened Monday afternoon on a range where Army Rangers and other special operations troops are conducting training exercises this week.
Darby said Tuesday the cause of the crash of the AH-6M Little Bird helicopter was under investigation.
Both of the Army aviators who died belonged to a battalion of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment based at Fort Campbell, Ky.
The Army has not released their names.
