ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
At least two people were shot, one fatally after a shooting and head on crash in southwest Atlanta.
Lt. Paul Guerrucci with Atlanta homicide said police received a shots fired call, followed by a call reporting the car accident in the 1000 block of McDaniel St.
Guerrucci said a man found about 200 feet from the accident was shot at least once and died on the scene. Investigators don't believe he was in one of the crashed cars.
Police found two additional victims with non- life threatening gunshot wounds, and four people injured as a result of the accident where a suspect fled from the shooting scene.
At least five people were taken to Grady Hospital in stable condition.
Detectives say at this point in the investigation it is unclear what prompted the gun battle. The remaining victims do not have life threatening injuries.
