The holiday weekend has turned tragic after a teen drowns on Lake Allatoona.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday evening.
Officials say the 18-year-old male victim was about 40 feet in the water when he started having trouble swimming. Search and rescue teams were out at the lake for a little over two hours before recovering the victims body.
Police have not released the identity of the swimmer pending notification of family.
Meanwhile, a dive team will be in the area to search for a second possible drowning victim.
Family members identified the missing man as 42-year-old Byron Brock.
They said he was swimming across the lake when he disappeared.
"I just hope he's in the woods over there passed out, pray to God," the victim's cousin Billy Brock said.
Family members said Brock knew how to swim.
A search team will be back on the lake early Monday morning.
