JONESBORO, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Jazmin Green, the 2-year-old child who died last week after being left in a hot van, was laid to rest today after an emotional ceremony in Jonesboro.
A long drive from North Carolina couldn't stop Wendy Campbell from showing her support for Jazmin's family.
"We're going to see Jazmin again one day. She's just an angel going on home before us," Campbell said.
Jazmin's life was cut short Monday.
The toddler was left in a hot van after a field trip with her daycare and died.
Clayton County Police charged Marlo Fallings, 41, the owner of "Marlos Magnificent Early Learning Center" and her daughter Quantabia Hopkins, 23, with involuntary manslaughter.
As the preacher of Divine Faith Ministries International read Jazmin's eulogy, tears filled the eye's of her family and friends.
Family friend, Antionette Edwards holds her daughter a litter tighter now.
"It could have happened to anyone. It's so sad that this poor baby was taken away this way," Edwards said.
Police say staffers at the daycare called 911 an hour after they found Jazmin unresponsive.
A state affidavit says the women admitted to falsifying documents related to Jazmin's death.
CBS Atlanta has learned the state has cited the daycare for leaving children unattended in the past.
