Michelle Marsh

Michelle Marsh joined CBS Atlanta News as a general assignment reporter in February 2009.

Before moving to the Peach State, she was an investigative reporter and anchor at CBS 6 in Albany, NY.

While reporting in New York's state capital Michelle scored exclusive interviews with Governor David Paterson and reported on former Governor Eliot Spitzer's fall from power following a prostitution scandal.

Among other stories, Michelle reported extensively on the passage of Jonathan’s Law which offers parents and legal guardians access to child abuse investigation files and medical records in New York State. The law was passed following the death of a young autistic boy.

Michelle began her career at WIVT in Binghamton, NY shortly after graduating from Syracuse University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism.

A New York native, Michelle grew up in both Queens and Long Island with her sister Rene who is also a television news reporter. Michelle enjoys visiting her friends and family in New York but is happy to escape the cold winters of the northeast.

Besides her passion for television, she also enjoys dancing in her spare time. She has trained in tap, pointe, and modern dance for many years. Her other interests include reading, traveling, musical theater, attending sporting events, and tasting new spicy foods, the latter thanks to her Jamaican heritage.

Michelle is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She enjoys visiting schools and speaking to students about career opportunities in journalism.
