Thrashers Re-Sign F Reasoner

POSTED: 3:18 pm EDT June 8, 2009

(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Thrashers have resigned forward Marty Reasoner to a multiple-year contract on Monday.

Reasoner, 32, appeared in 79 games for the Thrashers last season, recording 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists). His 14 goals marked a career-high and he fell just one point short of matching a career-high for points.

"Signing Marty Reasoner was a good move for us as we look forward to next season," said general manager Don Waddell. "We knew he'd be good defensively, but he also put up some good numbers on offense for us."

He was honored with the 2009 Thrashers Players' Player Award, as voted on by his teammates, given annually to the Thrasher who best exemplifies what being a "team player" is all about.

The 6-1, 205-pound center has spent 10 seasons in the NHL and has totaled 78 goals and 128 assists in 544 games. He has played with St. Louis, Edmonton, Boston and Atlanta.
