Thrashers Re-Sign Forward Slater

(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Thrashers announced Wednesday that they have signed restricted free agent forward Jim Slater.

Slater posted eight goals and 18 points over 60 games for Atlanta a season ago. Over 274 career games, all with the Thrashers, the 26-year-old has recorded 31 goals and 70 points.

The Thrashers' 30th-overall pick in 2002 played four seasons at Michigan State, tallying 172 points in 157 career games. In his junior and senior seasons, Slater was the Spartans' team captain and was named team MVP.
