Tony McNary

Tony McNary joined the CBS Atlanta News team in 2005 as a general assignment reporter.

Tony has experienced many amazing stories as a reporter. His most memorable assignment was an interview with 4-year-old boy, Jonnie Quinn. The youngster was burned on 95% of his body. Incredibly inspired, Tony will never forget this tenacious child’s remarkable determination on the road to recovery. It is stories like these that keep Tony doing what he loves.

When not on assignment, he enjoys chess, reading crime novels, working out and showing off Atlanta to his young son.

Tony is a native of Longview, Texas. He spent much of his youth taking in the spectacular people and places of the Lone Star state. He was always interested in the happenings of the area, which served as a base for his future career as a reporter.Tony was excited to move to Atlanta where the landscape and communities are so diverse. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Tony attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and took his first job out of college at KBMT in Beaumont. Here, Tony started in creative services, producing commercials for two years.

From there, he was transferred into the newsroom and started his career as a reporter. He landed a job as the weekend anchor/producer for KBTV in Beaumont.

Tony then moved to Memphis where he worked at WMC.
