Doraville Police Punish Officer For Having Sex On The Job

Officer Carlos Olivo Received Suspension, Probation

Doraville police spokesman Gene Callaway said Officer Carlos Olivo has been suspended for 4 days, put on probation for 6 months, and can't work part time jobs for 6 months.

The punishment comes after Officer Olivo admitted to having sex with a woman named Courtney while working. Olivio said it happened while he was working a part time security job for a private company not for the city of Doraville.

Courtney disputes that they met only when he was off-duty and said police supervisors never asked for her side of the story.

A woman named Courtney said she slept with a Doraville police officer multiple times while he was on-duty. She and her husband, Louis, are speaking out so that the police officer is held accountable for his actions.

Courtney said she met the officer at a restaurant in the spring. CBS Atlanta is withholding his name until police confirm it. She said their relationship turned sexual and they met in the woods and parking lots. She said he was in uniform and on the job.

Louis learned of the affair and complained to a Doraville police supervisor. Louis said he felt police didn't take him seriously.

"I don't have respect for the police. It's easy as that," said Louis.

"I know what I did was wrong and I want to make it up to the one who means the most to me," said Courtney, speaking about her husband.

Louis said he thinks the officer is misusing his authority and thinks he should be fired.
