ATLANTA -- Five people were hospitalized Monday morning following two separate car crashes at Memorial and East Lake Drives in southeast Atlanta. The second crash happened while emergency responders were still clearing the first crash. All together, six cars were involved.Atlanta Fire Department Battalion Chief Steven Woodworth said he didn't know what caused the first crash, but when asked if ice was involved in the second accident, he said, "definitely".The intersection turned into an ice rink in the early morning hours when water leaking out of the roadway froze. People who live in the area said they've complained to the city multiple times about the leaking water over the past three weeks.Eric Taylor said, "I've called the city 7 or 8 times. Nothing has been done."CBS Atlanta News contacted both they mayor's office and the water department, but nobody was available for an interview.After the crashes, city crews spread gravel on the road.
