ATLANTA -- Everyone loves a makeover, and this week the hair we cut will be donated to Locks of Love.In an e-mail, Melissa Hayes wrote to us about a friend from her gym."Tracy Drye is a perfect candidate for Ambush Makeover because she has spent the last 2+ years focusing all her energy on her husband's health and is deserving of a little pampering,” said Hayes. That was all reporter Corinna Allen needed to hear to swing her “glam squad” into action.Allen staged the ambush at BTB Fitness in Buckhead, then took the party to the Maria Heckscher salon.Drye had been growing her hair out for Locks of Love, so she had a lot of it."I can only imagine a little child to be able to have it, so it's the right thing,” explained Drye.To make her hair as long possible, stylist Ric Brewer blow dried it straight, then measured it with a special comb. Finally, it was time to cut.Brewer did it quickly, then dropped the severed pony tail into Drye’s lap."Here you go,” said Brewer. “It's all yours."Drye’s response?“It was!"Before the shock could wear off, we did some quick styling and make up, then whisked her away for some shopping at the Sand Piper Boutique in Vinings.Since the cocktail dresses she tried on were cut low in the back, stylist Melissa Murdock suggested using a product called “Boob-eez."She explained that he half-dollar sized silicone disks, ”make you look like you have on a bra, when you don't."Our last stop was Emly Benham for some strappy silver sandals. Finally, it was time for the big reveal. The results got cheers from the crowd.Chalk up another happy husband to our ambush makeover.
