Woman Suspected Of Impersonating Charity Worker

She Claimed To Be Collecting Money For Toys For Tots

A woman suspected of trying to scam businesses in Winder by telling them she was was from Toys for Tots has been arrested in Decatur, police said.

Winder Police said 47-year-old Marsha Lynn Foster had been going around to businesses in Winder, claiming to be a representative for Stars and Strikes, and that she was collecting money for Toys for Tots.

She was not, however, affiliated with either agency.

Foster was arrested by DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday evening at her home in Decatur and charged with identity theft and theft by deception.
