ATLANTA -- Suspect Paul Serdula went before a judge for the first time Friday night. Serdula told the judge he's never been in trouble before.Police said it was a hidden video camera that launched what they call a major investigation, one that may go outside of metro Atlanta and even Georgia. The 47-year old suspect is a registered nurse licensed to administer anesthesia and police say you may be a victim. Police say Serdula hid a video camera under the sink of a Marietta dentist’s office in the women's bathroom and was taping women."You know where the pipes have insulation around them. This insulation, there was a hole cut in it and the lens of the camera was basically pointing in the direction of the commode,” said Sgt. Dana Pierce.Police say if you have had any dental or medical work done where you were put under, you could be at risk. They tell us they have identified three victims so far, but believe the nurse could have taken advantage of hundreds and police have no idea who those victims are.“Not only are we concerned about people in the metro Atlanta area, but we believe he has gone outside of the state of Georgia. He may have been practicing outside the state of Georgia so we may literally have hundreds of victims out there who did not know that they were being videotaped by him while they were under anesthesia,” said Pierce.Police said it was a search of Serdula's Marietta home that was the real shock. They found hundreds of videos of him allegedly sexually assaulting patients while they were put under during surgery."He was taking advantage, sexually battering, mostly these females that were under anesthesia he administered while they were under that anesthesia," said Pierce.Police said Serdula was a nurse contractor who worked at different dentist and doctor's offices. We're told those offices were not linked to what he is accused of doing."The enormity of this case is because of the graphic nature and the victims and the faces that we have that are being victimized. We don’t' know who these victims are," said Pierce. "They may not even know they were sexually assaulted."The investigation started with just one dentist's office, but police said it may lead them outside of metro Atlanta and Georgia. CBS Atlanta found Serdula has been licensed for more than a decade. Serdula has lived in Georgia for 12 years, first in Powder Springs, then spending the past five years in Marietta. If you were put under during any medical or dental procedures recently, contact your dentist or doctor. They can tell you if Serdula was working for them at the time. If he was, you need to call police.Serdula's bond was set at $50,000 with conditions. The judge told him he's not allowed to have contact with the dentist office or anyone who works there.
