Police Chase Ends In Clayton County

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A police chase involving a stolen car started in Atlanta and ended in Clayton County Friday afternoon.According to Atlanta Police Ofc. Eric Schwartz, Atlanta police spotted the stolen vehicle on Amal Drive and attempted to stop it. When it did not stop, Schwartz said, an Atlanta police helicopter gave chase.During the chase, an Atlanta police cruiser sustained minor damage, Schwartz said, but the officer was not hurt.Police and Georgia State Patrol troopers chased the vehicle to Interstate 675 South, where it finally stopped near the Fort Gillem exit.Police and state troopers took the two people in the vehicle into custody.Officers found several I.D. cards that did not belong to the suspects, as well as purses, Schwartz said.
