ATLANTA -- There were widespread flight cancellations and delays nationwide Thursday, including at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, because of a problem with the FAA system that collects airlines' flight plans.A source told CBS Atlanta that the problem began at a processing center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Federal Aviation Administration said the problem was fixed around 10 a.m. Delays continued for several hours. The system, the National Airspace Data Interchange Network, appears to be the same system that failed in August 2008."I guess I'm just going to hang out and have a crappier day," said traveler Teresa Stoner, whose flight to Denver was canceled. She had to wait 3-and-a-half hours for another flight.Other passengers said that as long as they get to their destinations safely, the delays are worth the wait."We'll put up with the delays. It'll get worse during the holidays," said traveler Hal Olson.
