FAIRBURN, Ga. -- Rushing water closed Cochran Mill Road where it meets Cascade Palmetto Highway in Fairburn. Caution tape was drawn across Cochran Mill Road to warn drivers about the rushing water.Tuggle Creek rose with the rain and is now running over the road, closing it to traffic. A few cars slowed down when they approached the bridge, but then turned around instead of crossing through the fast-moving water.Tuggle Creek is a tributary of the Chattahooche River. The steady rainfall kept the water running Tuesday night. The dangerous part about Cochran Mill Road is only one side of the bridge is blocked off. Drivers should be on the lookout for rising water on the road. If drivers see standing water on the road, they shouldn't drive through it. The best piece of advice is turn around, don't drown.
