Mayoral Candidates Wait For Borders' Approval
Still No Word On Endorsement From City Council President

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Atlanta mayoral candidate Mary Norwood met with Lisa Borders Friday morning. Norwood is seeking the endorsement of the city council president in the Dec. 1 runoff race.“We had a great conversation," said Norwood, the frontrunner in the mayor's race. "We talked about policy issues. We talked about the things that matter to her. The things that matter to me. And we were in great accord on the issues of public safety and on fiscal accountability."Borders, who finished a distant third in Tuesday's election, met Thursday with Kasim Reed. Norwood's opponent in the mayoral race is also seeking the council president's support.Borders' campaign told CBS Atlanta that an endorsement could come on Friday, but late in the day said that would not happen.A Borders spokeswoman said there is no timetable to announce who Borders will support in the runoff race.
