ACWORTH, Ga. -- Cherokee County officials said a dispute over cab fare led to two people being arrested.Lieutenant Jay Baker of the Cherokee County sheriff's office said 49-year-old Michael Famiglitti and 35-year-old Ashley Carswell called a cab Wednesday night to take them from a Cobb County bar to Famiglitti's home.Baker said that when the driver told the couple the bill was $35, an argument started.Famiglitti is accused of retrieving a rifle, firing a shot into the air and pointing the gun at the cabbie. Baker said the driver called 911.The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT team were called to the residence.After several hours of trying to talk the two out, police fired pepper gas canisters into the home, went inside and arrested Famiglitti and Carswell.Police charged Famiglitti with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, obstruction of an officer, criminal damage to property, pointing a weapon at another, and theft of services. He remains in custody with a $24,415.00 bondCarswell is charged with obstruction. She remains in custody with a $680.00 bond.
