COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Some people living at the Westcove Apartments said they were without water for three days. They said management shutoff water to half of the complex without notifying residents.Michael Walker said he's had to buy several gallons of water to bathe and cook.Walker said, "It’s a lot of a children that need water. It's not right for a community to suffer like this at the hands of management."Residents said the only solution offered to them by the property managers was to fill up containers of water at a nearby vacant apartment. There is a large hole in the ground outside of the apartment building where an 8-inch water main broke. The Clayton County Water Authority said the main is on private property and it is not their responsibility to fix. Westcove owner Leon Williams said he had crews working on the break Sunday night, but they were unable to buy the replacement parts over the weekend. After five hours of work on Monday the water was turned back on. Williams said residents should run the faucet for about 10 minutes the first time they turn on the water.
