ATLANTA -- Hundreds showed up for an on-stage production in celebration of Dr. Joseph E. Lowery's 88 birthday inside the Martin Luther King Junior International Chapel on the Morehouse College Campus."It's really and error in the paperwork. I'm really 58. I don't know how that extra 30 years got in there," Lowery joked with CBS Atlanta News reporter Michelle Marsh.Celebrities came out to pay tribute to the civil rights activist.The show began with the quick tap moves of dancer Savion Glover and ended with the sweet sound of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.Rev. Jesse Jackson said he's been inspired by Lowery.Jackson told Marsh, "Dr. Lowery is a transformative figure in the civil rights struggle and peace movement in the world."Other celebrities in attendance included Alfre Woodard, Keith David, Charles S. Dutton and Nicole Ari Parker.Lowery led protests and worked tirelessly with the late Martin Luther King Jr. to fight for justice and equality.
