Right here in Georgia and at the United States Capitol, people were out protesting for change in Washington. “It is signified that we are ready for a real change in America not just the change that Obama is throwing. We don’t need Obama change we need real change,” said Paul Davis of Lovejoy, Ga. There was a festive atmosphere at the rally here in Georgia with live bands and people taking to the podium to talk in front of a large crowd. “They want to take the country in an entirely different direction than we want to take the country,” said one protester. Signs held in the rallies called the president a communist and a liar. In Washington, D.C., tens of thousands rallied. This is not the first tea party Americans disgruntled with the current administrations policies have thrown, but demonstrators say it is one of the most organized to date. A main issue today is the president’s plan for universal health care. A plan many think will add to government misspending and waste. “The people who come here don’t agree with the redistribution of wealth socialism and they see a dangerous pattern happening with the current administrations policies and they want to voice their discontent with it,” Matthew Schwartz said. The president will be making an appearance on “60 minutes on September 13, 2009. The president is in a campaign style mode trying to convince Americans that his health care plan can and will work.
