BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. -- As the search for a missing Blairsville woman resumed Monday morning, her family appeared on two national television shows, pleading for Kristi Cornwell's safe return.Cornwell's mother, brother and cousin appeared from Blairsville Monday. This morning on the CBS Early Show, Cornwell's mother Jo Ann spoke to the media for the first time.“It's the worst nightmare of our lives not knowing where your child is if they are safe or not,” said Cornwell.Richard Cornwell, the brother, said that his sister, a former probation officer, has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and is well suited to deal with emergency situations.Jo Ann Cornwell, the mother, started crying as she pleaded with Kristi Cornwell's potential abductors to return her to her family.“Whoever took her I just ask them to please have mercy on her and know that she has a 15-year-old son that needs his mother. We need her back,” said her mother Jo Ann Cornwell.Authorities believe Cornwell was abducted while talking to her boyfriend on her cell phone Aug. 11. Her cell phone was found by a man mowing his lawn Friday night. The boyfriend told investigators he heard a struggle and the phone went dead.According to investigators, 150 sex offenders who live in the area have been questioned, as well as neighbors, motorists and anyone else who has ties to Cornwell.Investigators are looking for a white SUV and a gold or tan colored compact car, maybe a small import car that could be similar to a Toyota Camry or a Nissan. If you have information, you are asked to call the Georgia Bureau of Investigation tip line at (706) 835-2900.
