Man Attempts To Rob Sandy Springs Bank

Had Note In Large Envelope

Police said someone tried to rob a Sandy Springs bank on Thursday.

A man walked into the Bank of America at Dunwoody Place on Roswell Road with a large envelope that contained a robbery note.

The envelope was originally regarded as a suspicious package until police determined it was not a threat.

The bank was evacuated and HAZMAT crews were called to the scene

Sandy Springs Police Department issued a lookout for a white male, described as mid 30's, blond hair, thin beard, about 5' 11" to 6' and 180 to 200 lbs.

He was wearing a light blue shirt, jean shorts, and a black cap.

The man left the location prior to police arrival.
