ATLANTA -- An Atlanta police officer who misplaced his gun has tested positive for cocaine, sources told CBS Atlanta on Monday.CBS Atlanta learned that the officer is Justin Green, who works in Atlanta’s Zone 2.According to sources, Green told his superiors that he got off work around 11 p.m. Sunday, then went to two Buckhead bars with some friends.The sources said that at about 2 a.m., Green and his friends went to a Waffle House on Roswell Road. Green then said he drove to his apartment.Green told his superiors that he thought he left his gun in the trunk, but it wasn't in his bag. According to sources, supervisors grew concerned that Green could not figure out where his gun was and ordered a drug test. The sources said that the test came back positive for cocaine.Atlanta police officials said in a statement Monday that they are still looking for the gun."At this time we are not commenting on the drug testing. The officer is suspended with pay pending a hearing with the chief of police,” the statement said.
