A stabbing and abduction that began in DeKalb County ended in South Carolina on Sunday.

Police responded to a domestic call at a house on Mill Harbour way in Lithonia.

According to investigators, a woman was forced out of her home at knifepoint by a man.

Police said the woman's son witnessed the man stabbing his mother, then forcing her into a car.

The man and woman were later found in South Carolina. The man was arrested.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was in critical condition Monday morning. Neither her name nor the man's name were immediately released.

The woman’s neighbors were stunned by the developments.

“I've been living here for four years, and I've never heard of any incidents like this. I’ve never heard of anyone being abducted,” said neighbor Antonio Brown.
