A small fire at a day care center in Clayton County caused an evacuation.

Safe Haven Learning Academy #2 on Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro caught fire Friday morning.

Clayton Fire Battalion Chief Landry Markison said an air conditioning repairman was working on the roof of the Safe Haven daycare around 11 a.m. Friday when the fire began.

Daycare owner Akira Eiland said there was no fire or water damage inside the building and all the children returned to normal activities around 11:30.

She said some parents picked up their children but most returned to child care.

Firefighters are working with Essential Heating and Air to determine how the fire started.

No one was injured.
