ACWORTH, Ga. -- A pilot and his student had to make an emergency landing Monday morning. The plane had complete engine failure and the pilot and student pilot ended up landing on Cobb Parkway between Acworth and Kennesaw. They ended up turning into a subdivision on Loring Road.Authorities identified the pilot as 44-year-old Glenn Michael Davidson of Canton and the passenger as 29-year-old Mallory D. Zackery of Jonesboro. The two had just left Mcullom Field when smoke filled the cockpit of the Italian-made Sky Arrow 600 Sport.“I've had a couple of emergencies, but not a complete engine failure like this,” said Davidson.Davidson is a furloughed Delta pilot who now flies for Jet Blue. On the side, he's an instructor.Davidson said he first looked for a field to land in, but when he didn’t spot one, the highway was the best option.Neither Davidson nor Zackery were injured.
