UNION CITY, Ga. -- Union City police said on Thursday that a former Fulton County police officer is accused of sexually assaulting prostitutes.George Luth, a Union City police representative, said Gerald Copeland, 48, was formally charged Thursday with aggravated assault and aggravated sexual battery.Police said Copeland raped and robbed a female victim at a vacant subdivision on March 27.Copeland, a retired police lieutenant, was already jailed in Fayette County after he was named a suspect in two other sexual assault cases.
