Drugs Get Sent To Wrong Person

Value Of Drugs Valued At $40,000

A Henry County doctor was expecting birthday gifts this week, but what he got instead was something he wasn’t expecting.

Someone sent him 34 pounds of marijuana.

The shipment came to the doctor's home in Stockbridge.

Police believe drug dealers meant to intercept the shipment, but they didn't.

The doctor who received the special package did not smoke the marijuana.

He called police instead.

Police value the marijuana at $36,000 to $40,000.

The package was sent via UPS from Texas with no return address.

Police think the doctors home was the intended destination because dealers often send shipments to random addresses.

“The individuals who received it intended to pick it up before he was aware,” said Henry County Capt. Jason Bolton.

Police say the dealers probably used a cleaning agent to disguise the smell.
