SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- A woman was shot and killed outside a Snellville Target store Sunday night.

The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. outside the store on Ronald Reagan Parkway.

Police told CBS Atlanta that they believe the woman was doing a parental swap and was just about to leave when a car drove off with her children.

Shortly after that, police said, a man walked up to her and shot her in the head.

Snellville Police Chief Roy Whitehead said the woman, who was believed to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead a few minutes later at a hospital.

The condition and location of the children were not immediately known.
