POSTED: 5:39 pm EDT October 10, 2008
ATLANTA -- A fired Atlanta police major is getting her job back after appealing the department's decision.Police Chief Richard Pennington fired C.J. Davis in June. She was accused of telling two detectives not to investigate a child porn case involving Terrell Crane, the husband of an Atlanta police sergeant.Unless the city appeals, Davis will soon be back to work at the Atlanta police department. She's been off the job more than three months and is now supposed to receive back pay and benefits.Davis argued that she was the only supervisor disciplined in connection with the Crane case.Crane is the husband of an Atlanta police sergeant. The city's law department found there was an attempted cover up because the department started receiving explicit pictures of Crane and young girls years and years ago but nothing was ever done about it.Davis was fired for untruthfulness but insists she never lied. She took her case to the city's civil service board.Friday her attorney learned the civil service board ruled in her favor.
