A 3-year-old child who police say had been abducted has been returned to his grandfather.

Michael Jesus Martin-Mejia, 3, was last seen with his 16-year-old mother, Carla Estefania Martin, who police said left the boy in the playground area of Las Colinas Apartments in Marietta. Police said Carla Martin called her stepfather to pick the child up. The child is safe and not injured.

Marietta police said Monday night that Martin is still considered armed and dangerous. Warrants have been issued for Martin’s arrest. Investigators said when found, she will be charged with kidnapping.

Police said anyone with information on the location of Carla Martin should not approach her, but call 911 instead.
