Flight Attendant Accused Of Being Drunk Caught On Tape

An Atlanta-based flight attendant for Atlantic Southeast Airlines faces charges of getting high before leaving the ground.

Police in Lexington, Ky., said Sarah Mills, 26, admitted to having a drink on duty Aug.5. The pilot called police and turned the Atlanta-bound flight around back to the terminal.

CBS 46 News obtained a videotape which shows Mills in a highly agitated state minutes after being brought into the Lexington police station.

“(Officer) Do you require immediate medical attention? (Mills) Yes. (Officer) What for? (Mills) Because I'm thinking about punching some people.”

But because she was bound by handcuffs, Mills could do little more than hurl insults. On the tape, she repeatedly admitted to being drunk, and begged officers to let her go.

Tests revealed her blood alcohol was .03, which is under the .08 legal limit for driving and the .04 limit for flying.

But the video showed a less-than-sober scene.

“(Mills to officer) Excuse me, thats my fu--ing ID.”

Later in a holding cell, Mills is captured on video crawling on the ground, pressing her hands and face into the glass.

“(Mills) That is my...that is my wings. I'm a fu--ing flight attendant. Thank you for everybody in here for getting me f---ing fired.”

Mills was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, but she didn’t appear.

A judge granted Mills’ attorney more time to review the videotape.

Mills is now due in court Sept. 11.
