Pastor Encourages Prayer For Genarlow Wilson

The pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church called on other pastors and church members Sunday to pray for Genarlow Wilson.

Wilson is serving a 10-year prison sentence for having consensual sex with a 17-year-old girl. Supporters and lawmakers called that sentence too harsh. Last month, a Superior Court judge called for Wilson to receive bond, so he could be released.

But last week, another Superior Court judge said Wilson’s crime made him ineligible for bond and canceled Wilson’s bond hearing.

Sunday, Ebenezer Baptist pastor Rev. Raphael Warnock called for other pastors and church members to pray for Wilson’s release.

Warnock also called for prayers on other teen-related issues, including crime and HIV.
